UP CLOSE & PERSONAL WITH TEAM CANADA EVENT, RIVALRY SERIES CONTEST REMINDERS
With the Rivalry Series coming to Nova Scotia next month, we wanted to pass along some details on an event that will be hosted by the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame, as well as a reminder about our Rivalry Series contests.
UP CLOSE & PERSONAL WITH TEAM CANADA
The NSSHF’s Up Close & Personal with Team Canada is your chance to meet and hear stories from Team Canada’s Marie-Philip Poulin, Sarah Nurse, Natalie Spooner, Blayre Turnbull (Stellarton), assistant coach Kori Cheverie (New Glasgow), and head coach Troy Ryan (Spryfield).
The event is being held on Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Light House Arts Centre (1800 Argyle Street) in Halifax.

CHEER TO PLAY CONTEST
It’s time to get your team amped up and ready to show some love for Team Canada!
The Cheer to Play Contest invites U7 teams and U9 Female Hockey and Minor Hockey teams registered with Hockey Nova Scotia to submit a video of their best team cheer in support of Team Canada. Here’s how you can enter:
· Create a video showcasing your team cheer.
· Share it on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.
· Like, follow, and tag Hockey Nova Scotia in your post.
· Alternatively, you can email a link to your video submission to communications@
Don’t forget to include the following details in your submission:
- Team Name
- Association
- Level (e.g., U7, U9, etc.)
Your teams could win this unforgettable opportunity to participate in an intermission game during the Rivalry Series!
KINDNESS TO CARRY THE FLAG CONTEST
Our Kindness to Carry the Flag contest is your chance to carry the Canadian and US flags during the pre-game ceremony of the Rivalry Series.
The Kindness to Carry the Flag Contest is open to all U11 and above players who are playing on a Minor Hockey or Female Hockey team that is registered with Hockey Nova Scotia.
To enter:
- Share your act of kindness (e.g., donating to a food bank) on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.
- Like, follow, and tag Hockey Nova Scotia in your post.
- Alternatively, you can email your act of kindness to communications@
hockeynovascotia.ca.
Make sure your submission includes:
- Your Team Name
- Your Association
- Level (e.g., U15 AA)
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY
The deadline for both contests is Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2 p.m.
